Peer Gynt: Music Festival Grafenegg

O wydarzeniu

The Tonkünstler and the Wiener Singverein under Michael Schønwandt will perform Grieg's "Peer Gynt" together with a star line‐up of vocalists from Scandinavia who will also present the Prelude.

"Peer Gynt" tells the fantastic story of a young peasant who withdraws from reality by losing himself in fantasies. Only after years of restless wayfaring to the most remote spots in the world does he find his way back to himself and to his home. Nicholas Ofczarek will slip into the role of Peer Gynt, with a new text provided by author Franzobel.

There’s a special feeling in the air when you step through the gates of Grafenegg to plunge into the open atmosphere of this Music Festival. Here is a fascinating combination of past and future, tangible in the contrast between the old castle and the modern open‐air stage, Wolkenturm. On mild summer evenings, performances are in the open; in poor weather, the Auditorium opens its doors.
