Manon: Opéra de Montréal
O wydarzeniu
Opéra de Montréal brings Massenet's well‐loved and moving French opera Manon to the stage with rising young star Marianne Fiset in the title role. Alongside her are up‐and‐coming Canadian talents Gordon Bintner and Bruno Ribeiro.
Manon is a French opera classic; an irresistable combination of carefree frivolity and Parisian ettiquette. Canadian soprano Marianne Fiset brings to Montreal the role in which she made her acclaimed debut at the Opéra‐Bastille. Prize‐winning Canadian baritone Gordon Bintner stars alongside her, as well as Portugese tenor Bruno Ribeiro.
Manon is moments away from entering the convent when a chance meeting with the Chevalier Des Grieux changes her fate. Idealistic and lovestruck, they escape together to Paris. Temptation, corruption, greed, disgrace, and condemnation await Manon before a tragic death in the arms of her beloved.
Performed in French with English and French surtitles.
