Her Ensemble celebrate their second birthday in shoreditch nightclub colours, showcasing some of their favourite music written by women.
Founder Ellie Consta was inspired to create her ensemble after discovering that in 2019/20, only 3.6% of classical music performed worldwide was written by women. This concert features her favourite repertoire: 45 minutes of exceptional music written for strings.
Her Ensemble was founded to bridge the gender gap in the classical music industry. They highlight female composers from the past and collaborate with current artists who share their ethos. Born out of the European Union Youth Orchestra, the free‐form group brings together some of the UK's most sought‐after musicians.
The corner of Hoxton Square has been home to a live music venue for over a hundred years, and the new Bar Colours Hoxton is committed to continuing the grassroots event for many years to come.
