Goerne, Solberg & Järvi: Brahms & Messiaen
O wydarzeniu
Paavo Järvi provides the Chorus of the Orchestre de Paris with a chance to sing one of the most beautiful works in the repertoire. The grand, sacred fresco with which Brahms won acclaim--A German Requiem--is ideal music for this concert, with its humanism and its spiritual nature that remains detached from any liturgy. The transparent orchestra bridges the two vocal soloists and the powerful chorus; both ensembles and soloists create a marvel of deep sobriety.
Messiaen’s early The Resplendent Tomb, which the Orchestre de Paris will perform for the first time, is a beautiful essay in dynamics and ondulant, Debussyesque waves of sound.
