Freiburger Barokorchester: Music for the Sun King

O wydarzeniu

From Lully to De Lalande — Louis XIV was surrounded by music every day, on festive occasions, during Mass, at dinner, at official receptions, on boat trips, and even at bedtime. The world renowned Freiburger Barockorchester will perform the Sun King's court music led by violinist and early music expert Gottfried von der Goltz.

At the most prosperous times Louis XIV had employed 120 musicians including singers, trumpeters, drummers, and musicians from the Royal Chapel. The musicians of "Le Chambre du Roy" included the tyrannical court composer Jean‐Baptiste Lully, a composing priest from Aix‐en‐Provence, André Campra and from the highest echelons of French music came Michel‐Richard De Lalande.
