Festival Verdi: Macbeth at the Opéra de Lyon
O wydarzeniu
The Verdi Festival at the Opéra de Lyon starts with a powerful performance of Macbeth, with Susanna Branchini in the role of the terrifying and manipulative Lady Macbeth, one of the strongest heroins of the repertoire.
Based on Shakespeare's play about power's folly, Verdi's masterpiece is a timeless fable that also speaks about the horrors of the capitalist era when director Ivo van Hove decides to transform the final chorus into the voice of Wall Street's indignants.
