Experience Francesco Bartolomeo Conti's work "Don Chisciotte in Sierra Morena" at Theater an der Wien.
Conti composed this opera for the carneval in 1719. It satarizes the serious operas of the time.
Don Chisciotte, who makes himself into an errant knight, sets out to fulfill imaginary heroic deeds. His friends try to return him to reality while at the same time trying to resolve the love confusions of two couples. In the end they can only get Chisciotto home in a cage. But is this really a happy ending?
