Cirque Éloize is unveiling its new creation as a bold show brimming with energy, featuring a blend of circus arts, theatrical skills, song, dance and music. With its upcoming creation 'Cirkoplis', Cirque Éloize dives into a vibrant comic book world, pushing the boundaries of visual and audio innovations through different forms of projections.

Comic books bring this idea of moving images, almost in a cinematographic way, which we can forward, rewind, slow down or stop. In this scenic universe: dance, circus and theatre will meet and it is by the breath of poetry and musicality, that the movement of the characters and objects will be animated. In this show, tinged with humor, where reality comes across the world of comics, we will bring the viewer into a true audio and visual vertigo.

“This new show starts with a pencil mark. Simple, yet powerful, it leads the audience on an imaginary journey set against a vivid background. To the sound of an original score, mysterious characters spring to life, meeting on the edge of reality and fantasy, in a creative space where anything is possible.” says Jeannot Painchaud, Artistic Director of this new show.

Several advanced acrobatic disciplines, performed by 12 artists, are at the rendezvous, including diabolo, trapeze, Spanish web, teeterboard, Cyr wheel and contortion. The use of screens and transparency woven over a backdrop of projection is harmonized to build a dream‐like décor inspired by a surrealist and clownish imaginary.

Cirque Éloize will transport performers and spectators between dream and reality in an uninterrupted stream of acrobatics, images, drawings and illusions for the pleasure of the eye.
