Chamber Music in Barcelona: Apollon Musagète Quartett

The chamber music season of the Auditori de Barcelona features a variety of excellent performers.

The Apollon Musagète Quartet was formed in 2006 in Vienna and won competitions throughout Europe only two years later. In its first visit to Barcelona, the quartet offers a programme including one of Beethoven’s youthful quartets. The ensemble will also perform the first of Robert Schumann's three quartets, and the second quartet by Polish Karol Szymanowski, which combines folk sounds with sophisticated composition. The programme is completed by Balakirev’s transcription of one of Frederic Chopin’s magnificent studies for piano.
