In a unique opera experience, directors Philipp J. Neumann and Anthony Pilavachi bring Bartók's only opera Bluebeard's Castle and Leoncavallo's Pagliacci to the stage of the Oper Leipzig.
While Bartók's Bluebeard deals with the dark and inscrutable abysses of the human soul, Leoncavallo tells the story of a betrayed, aging actor. Both stories end in catastrophe without hope of salvation for the main characters.
