The great names of baroque music are obvious choices for this vocal series, which sees the return of William Christie's Jardin des Voix and includes a multicultural panorama of the kind we have come to expect from Jordi Savall. Romanticism is represented by Brahms's Deutsches Requiem, conducted by Mariss Jansons, along with other lavish productions that include opera in concert, sacred music, and some discoveries.
