Brytyjska tradycja kompozytorska szczyci się bogatą, znakomitą historią, ewoluując w wyjątkową szkołę muzyczną, do której należeli tacy kompozytorzy jak Purcell, Gibbons i „przybrany” Handel. Od wpływów epoki edwardiańskiej utalentowanego Elgara, którego Enigma Variations z 1899 roku ugruntowały jego renomę jako cenionego angielskiego kompozytora, po Williama Waltona, znanego z genialnej i zabawnej Façade Suite, oraz Ethel Smyth, której Concerto na unikalne połączenie rogu i skrzypiec stanowi jedno z jej późniejszych dzieł. W tej podróży przez kanał La Manche towarzyszy nam Anna Rakitina, dyrygentka i laureatka prestiżowej nagrody European Culture Award 2025.

| Orkiestra: | Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi Known colloquially as 'La Verdi', Milan's famed symphony orchestra was formed in the early 90s to supplement the city's already‐generous cultural offering. Making its home in Milan's Auditorio, La Verdi features among Europe's most respected and admired symphonic ensembles. Its first Musical Director, Ricardo Chailly, now holds the title of Conductor Laureate, while the Austrian conductor, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, a fast‐rising star in the orchestral firmament took over the role of Musical Director in 2024, following in the footsteps of several major names in the classical world. La Verdi welcomes a starry roster of soloists and guest conductors over the course of an extensive and varied annual season, and regularly features as guests of honour at important state occasions and international concert engagements. |
