Europa i Ameryka. Program ten łączy Martinů i Dvořáka, dwóch kompozytorów, którzy pomimo okoliczności stali się obywatelami świata, opuszczając swoją ojczyznę, znaną obecnie jako Czechy. Program rozpoczyna się uwerturą karnawałową Dvořáka. Pod koniec XIX wieku kompozytor ten wyruszył w podróż przez Atlantyk, aby objąć stanowisko dyrektora Konserwatorium w Nowym Jorku. W programie znalazł się również rzadko wykonywany i wymagający Koncert‐rapsodia na altówkę i orkiestrę Martinů, odzwierciedlający jego przymusowy wyjazd z Europy w mrocznym okresie II wojny światowej. Kulminacyjnym punktem tego złożonego programu jest Symfonia nadreńska Schumanna pod batutą Corneliusa Meistera, dyrektora muzycznego Opery Państwowej w Stuttgarcie od 2018 roku, z udziałem Sarah McElravy na altówce, wszechstronnej artystki, która jest zarówno skrzypaczką, jak i altowiolistką.

| Orkiestra: | Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi Known colloquially as 'La Verdi', Milan's famed symphony orchestra was formed in the early 90s to supplement the city's already‐generous cultural offering. Making its home in Milan's Auditorio, La Verdi features among Europe's most respected and admired symphonic ensembles. Its first Musical Director, Ricardo Chailly, now holds the title of Conductor Laureate, while the Austrian conductor, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, a fast‐rising star in the orchestral firmament took over the role of Musical Director in 2024, following in the footsteps of several major names in the classical world. La Verdi welcomes a starry roster of soloists and guest conductors over the course of an extensive and varied annual season, and regularly features as guests of honour at important state occasions and international concert engagements. |
