O wydarzeniu

The singers of the Berlin Philharmonic Choir continually strive to achieve the fluid, transparent, and multifaceted musical expression that has defined this renowned ensemble since its founding in 1882.

For over two decades, Jörg‐Peter Weigle has shaped the artistic direction of the Berlin Philharmonic Choir—at the start of the 2025/26 season, the young choir conductor Florian Benfer from Sweden—the mecca of choral music—has taken over. He concludes his first season with the Berliners, one of Germany’s most prestigious oratorio choirs, together with the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt and renowned soloists, with Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana,” one of the most beloved choral works of all time.

The medieval, secular songs from Benediktbeuern ignite a zest for life, dance, happiness, and pleasure, and, with the goddess Fortuna at their center, serve as a powerful symbol of the transience and unpredictability of our human existence.
