Carmen: Latvian National Opera
O wydarzeniu
Carmen is not only Georges Bizet's most popular work; it is also one of the most performed operas of all time — enjoy this unique production at the Latvian National Opera this season.
The tragedy unfolds when Jose's obsessive, destructive love for Carmen is confronted with her longing for unconditional freedom — a freedom for which she is willing to pay any price, even her own life. With this production, which is set in present day Cuba, the LNO takes a fresh look at the story.
Libretto by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy based on the novella by Prosper Mérimée
