Inspired by a small town far from Havana on the eve of the Cuban Revolution, the glorious Carmen dreams of a better life. Jose, a young soldier seduced by Carmen, will make her escape from her responsibilities, accompanying her to the city. Once she becomes 'Queen of Havana', she will lose interest in her faithful companion and turn to the charismatic boxer El Niño Martínez, with fatal consequences.
