L’Opéra de la Lune: Dijon Opera
Etkinlik Hakkında
The Dijon premiere of Brice Pauset’s opera — which is based on Schumann’s Kinderszenen and mixes Lieder and excerpts from opera — is perfect for the whole family, for children and adults who still have so much to learn from one another.
It was at the start of the 1950s that Prévert wrote his magnificent fable, L’Opéra de lune, which, without any naiveté, captures all the complexity of the world of childhood. A hymn to dreams and the imagination, to peace and harmony, a call to rediscover the seriousness and freshness of feelings in our early years, L’Opéra de lune subtly weaves together the pains and torments of a childhood sacrificed to the prosaic values of the post‐war world – and is not the world of adults always a post‐war world? Michel Morin is not fleeing reality by dreaming his way to the moon – it is the invisible and yet flagrant unreality of a world that has lost its capacity for enchantment and the joyous celebration of poetry.
Damien Caille‐Perret, who knows how to reach the moon while keeping both feet on the ground, delivers a stage production that provides a splendid opportunity to discover the world of opera, not just of the moon, which belongs to poets both big and small, but of the earth, the last refuge today of marvels, dreams and the imagination.
