When Anne‐Sophie Mutter performs with the best of her scholarship holders, it is also to present some masterpieces from the huge repertoire for string ensemble — such as the nonet by André Previn composed for her 'Virtuosi,' in which two quartets compete with each other, held together by the double bass. The violinist has just released an album in which she performs together with the cellist Pablo Ferrández, who was once discovered and promoted by her in the 'VIrtuosi' — examples such as these show how committed the world‐class violinist is to young string players. In the current concert, the young musicians take us on a journey into an ingenious labyrinth of mirrors: Bach's Third Brandenburg Concerto, perhaps the most beautiful Baroque work for pure string ensemble, will be heard.
