Tilson Thomas & San Francisco Symphony: Mahler, Salle Pleyel
Az eseményről
Mahler's monumental Third Symphony is an ode to nature: in six movements, it describes the creation of the universe.
Bursting with vitality and a pantheistic, spectacular spirit, the symphony ends nonetheless with a long and peaceful slow movement. Calling upon a contralto soloist, a women's chorus, and a children's choir quoting passages from Thus Spake Zarathustra, Mahler here recognizes the place of philosophical reflection in human life.
