Experience Varèse's rarely performed masterpiece during its Stockholm premiere at the Konserthuset.
Chief conductor Sakari Oramo leads the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra in this special event.
Varèse composed his work after his arrival in America. In it he created a sound picture of New York with complex rhythms and harsh clangs.
The evening opens with Shostakovich's challenging Violin Concerto No. 1 and Stravinsky's Symphonies for Wind Instruments.
