Adventi koncertsorozat: Stephansdom Bécs

Különösen karácsony előtt sokan keresik a Szent István‐székesegyház békéjét és elmélyülését, hogy felkészüljenek az év legszebb időszakára. A karácsonyi koncertek a Szent István‐székesegyházban egy kis megállásra hívnak — olyan pillanatokra, amikor kiszakadhatunk a karácsony előtti nyüzsgésből, és visszatérhetünk az élet lényeges dolgaihoz.
Ezeken a meghitt estéken ünnepi kamarazene és a legszebb karácsonyi dalok szólalnak meg, a Harmonia Ensemble Wien ügyes tolmácsolásában, szoprán és bariton szólók járulnak hozzá az elmélyült hangulathoz.
A Harmonia Ensemble Vienna zenészei a zenekari játék mellett kamaraegyüttesként is nagy hatékonysággal és örömmel lépnek fel, mindig azzal a céllal, hogy zenei képességeiket és látókörüket bővítsék. A zenészek ezzel egy régi hagyományt követnek, ahogyan az olyan elismert zenekaroknál, mint a Bécsi Filharmonikusok, szokás.

My wife enjoyed and I were impressed with the setting and sound in the St. Stephens Dom. The selection of Christmas music was lovely, performed very well by the chamber group, and riveting by the two singers. A perfect start to our Holiday Seasson trip to Vienna.

Konzert war sehr schön und hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Sänger sollten mehr im Vordergrund stehen! Beim Einlass in den Stephansdom war es chaotisch und sollte besser organisiert sein.

We really enjoyed the concert. Venue stunning and music sounded fantastic. The staff working at the event weren’t so helpful. As my husband and I walked to the entrance of the cathedral we had come in by (I wanted to light a candle in the cathedral) we were stopped by a member of staff who told us “You’ve paid for the show, not the tour” and we were abruptly told to leave by the side exit. We understand staff need to direct people to the correct exit however her manner was rude and brought our mood down after such a wonderful performance. Maybe staff would benefit from lessons in politeness/kindness?

The singers and players were wonderful, however the acoustics do not serve them well‐ we sat in the second section and they sounded far away and with an echo. The program was too light‐ bits and pieces of Christmas songs, would like to hear something a bit more substantial. Towards the end of the one hour performance we were feeling the cold‐ needed to put all the winter gear on.

Wonderful. An unforgettable experience. Soprano soloist was outstanding and trumpet player also. It is a pity so many people were holding up camera phones to film and spoiling the view. I could not see very much in the second sector. But musically a very enjoyable experience.

Ein Kammerkonzert im Domgebäude geht unter. Darüber hinaus fand ich die Vorstellung konventionell, d. h. mehr klassische Musik und weniger Weihnachtslieder würde ich mir wünschen.
