Four of Cecile McLorin’s albums have been Grammy‐nominated and three have actually scooped the award. It is quite obvious that the international jazz world has found its new leading lady. Intelligence, humour, attitude: Cecile McLorin has it all. You can hear echoes in her unique timbre of great predecessors like Betty Carter or Abbey Lincoln. Her repertoire is a selection of jazz, vaudeville, blues and folk and she has a predilection for forgotten songs that tell stories. Together with pianist Sullivan Fortner, himself a rising star on the international jazz scene, she will transform the Henry Le Boeuf Hall into a sultry, intimate jazz club.
