Wolfgang Meyer (clarinet) and Quatuor Mosaïques play works of Schubert and Mozart.

Despite jokingly calling clarinettist Anton Stadler “red current face” and even going so far as to play several pranks on him, Mozart wrote more scores for Stadler than for any of his other friends. In addition to the clarinet concerto, Stadler would also debut Mozart’s Quintet for Clarinet and Strings, a perfect synthesis of the scholarly and the chivalrous. Schubert’s Death and the Maiden would experience similar popularity, though its composer didn’t live to enjoy it.
