Once again, the experienced Arts Quartet offers the quintet with piano in its next participation in the Chamber Season. This formation assumes almost orchestral dimensions in the hands of Robert Schumann in one of the German composer’s most celebrated chamber works. Anton Webern uses it to offer an exaltation of love through a highly personal language that he was just beginning to forge. For his part, Salvador Brotons shows us the joy of living through an atonal composition that is by no means free of lyricism.
