Spitalfields Music Winter Festival: Madrigals Transformed

During this year's Spitalfields Music Winter Festival, Geoffrey Webber leads Choir and Consort of Caius College in a performance of Italian madrigals at London's Christ Church.

One of the UK’s leading college choirs, Cauis College, performs madrigals transformed into sacred works by Monteverdi and his Mantuan collaborator Coppini. A showcase of Italian choral works accompanied by instruments, this concert offers a rare opportunity to experience some of Monteverdi’s most famous madrigals in their alternative existence, as well as the famous lament from Monteverdi’s lost opera Arianna.
