The Arabian Princess or the Sultana of Cádiz
演出简介
Juan Crisostómo de Arriaga's opera "The Arabian Princess or the Sultana of Cádiz" will be performed for the first time in Europe at the Oper Leipzig.
The opera tells the fairy tale about a young princess and the poor fisherman who sings more beautifully than a court minstrel. Many adventures must be overcome for the final happy ending of the Arabian Nights.
In 2009, this beautiful work was the first opera project by the Barenboim‐Said Foundation. Young Israeli and Palestinian musicians came together through the project to perform together at the Cultural Palace of Ramallah. The Spanish composer Juan Chrisostómo de Arriaga (1806‐1826), also known as the "Spanish Mozart", created magical music that appeals to children and adults alike.
