Prize‐winning vocalist André Minvielle and French accordion king Lionel Suarez perform music steeped in French tradition, and the band Java brings influences from Paris/ Pigalle to New York/ the Bronx to the Altstadtherbst Kulturfestival 2009.

André Minvielle was named best French vocal artist in 2008, and he is a stirring proponent of the musette musical tradition. Java is descended from Léo Ferré and Afrika Bambaataa, and the band offers a refreshing mix of grand old street waltzes with jazz, hip‐hop, and electronic music.

Melodic and warm, rebellious and witty, this evening at the Altstadtherbst Kulturfestival promises a breadth of sound and personality that is sure to entertain.
