"To the Immortal Beloved"

The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert in celebration of romantic love, with conductor Eri Klas and pianist Kasparas Uinskas.

No one knows the real identity of Ludwig van Beethoven's "beloved". The composer never married, and his famous letter represents one of the most wonderful symbols of romantic love, with the words: “My angel, my all, my own self.” One can hear these words in the second movement of the composer’s Piano Concerto. Wagner wrote many dramatic operas, which could be called hymns glorifying love. The concert version of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg transfers us into the sixteenth century, when singers competed by singing songs for the hand of the beloved. This concert will feature conductor and pianist Eri Klas, hailed as an Estonian cultural ambassador, and the pianist Kasparas Uinskas, who has won popularity of the audiences in Lithuania and abroad.
