At the Grafenegg Music Summer 2009 the Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria will perform a concert of great American classics.

The date is the key to this harmonious and relaxed evening of music: on what is Independence Day in the United States of America, the Tonkünstler Orchestra and the conductor and pianist Wayne Marshall will be setting sail across the Atlantic to bring us music by George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein and Robert Russell Bennett. These three composers were critical in shaping the American musical scene and they captured in their compositions the (free) spirit of their age. Classics such as the «Candide» overture and «An American in Paris» are on the programme, along with the homage «Gershwin in Hollywood».

This concert in the extraordinary concert facilities of Grafenegg is the perfect way to join the festivities on the Fourth of July.
