It is a great honour to be able to welcome this legendary ensemble in the course of its farewell tour.

At the end of the 2007‐2008 season the Alban Berg Quartet will bring its career to a close, following the death of its violist, Thomas Kakuska.

The programme chosen for this occasion, a particularly solemn and poignant one, allows us to hear some of the composers most closely associated with the quartet, including Berg, their presiding genius.
