This program of the Tonkünstler‐Orchestra features romantic works by Richard Strauss, Gabriel Fauré, and Albert Roussel. The orchestra will be joined by renowned solo‐oboist of the Berliner Philharmoniker, Albrecht Mayer.

Yutaka Sado opens this subscription concert with a declaration of love to music itself: the Suite from Richard Strauss’ ‘Rosenkavalier’. This theme is continued with multiple Echo Klassik Award‐winner Albrecht Mayer’s performance of the same composer’s Oboe Concerto. In the second half of the concert you will hear the gentle sounds of Fauré’s Suite from ‘Pelléas et Mélisande’ followed by the dazzlingly brilliant Second Suite from Albert Roussell’s ballet ‘Bacchus et Ariane’.
