Born in Austria to a Persian family of musicians, Kian Soltani has quickly made a name for himself as one of the most talented cellists of the young generation. In the first part of his program, he performs the solo sonata by Zoltán Kodály and a new solo piece by Jörg Widmann. Together with Russian pianist Nathalia Milstein, who has also won early acclaim and is currently completing her studies at the Barenboim‐Said Akademie, he takes on works by Shostakovich and Chopin.
