Izabella Simon & Dénes Várjon: piano at the Liszt Academy

Feel the sensitive harmony of the piano couple onstage of the Grand Hall of the Liszt Academy. During this recital, Izabella Simon and Dénes Várjon perform an inspired program of works by Schumann, Brahms and Mahler.

The evening will start with Schumann's Six pieces for pedal piano, which the composer and his wife created together. Brahms' Variations on a Haydn Theme will then follow, before the two virtuoso pianists offer an arrangement for four‐hand of Mahler's Symphony No. 1, which will undoubtedly reveal a new side to the work.
