Join the Elbe Philarmonic of Hamburg as they reprise works with which their new concert hall — the talk of musical Europe — opened in early 2017. Thomas Hengelbrock and celebrated tenor Pavol Breslik bring Wolfgang Rihm's Reminiszenz to the Concertgebouw for its Netherlands premiere.

The Vorspiel to Wagner's 'Parsifal' sets the tone, before Rihm's work comes to the fore. Commissioned specifically for the opening of the new hall, Reminiszenz calls for the full forces of the orchestra, and sets texts by its dedicatee, Hans Henny Jahnn. Beethoven's Seventh Symphony, stirring and immense, brings the concert to an uplifting close.
