Gran Teatre del Liceu: Luisa Miller

演出简介

The presence on stage of soprano Sondra Radvanovsky and tenor Piotr Beczala is always an event. Both artists return to the stage of the Liceu, along with Eleonora Buratto, Luca Salsi, Juan Jesús Rodríguez and Arturo Chacón‐Cruz in the two scheduled casts, at the service of one of Verdi's most romantic operas, which heralds his future maturity. Luisa Miller, immediately prior to the 'popular trilogy', is an intense but serene opera, based on the bourgeois drama Kabale und Liebe by Friedrich Schiller, one of the authors most adapted to the Verdian pen. Damiano Michieletto concentrates the action on the drama of the two protagonists, Rodolfo and Luisa, whose innocence is marked by parental authority, seen in parallel with the two children who have never ceased to be. The mise‐en‐scène, set in the times of German pre‐Romanticism, serves with elegance and forcefulness the original text — adapted by the librettist Cammarano — as well as Verdi's score.
