Emergents Festival with OBC and young soloists at L'auditori de Barcelona

演出简介

A programme dedicated to the talent of the young performers who bring us key works from the most difficult and amazing repertoire in classical music: from Mozart’s originality to the power of Sibelius and the beauty of Tchaikovsky.

Few concert works achieve such an elegant balance between virtuosity and sensitivity as the three in this programme. Each has attained great popularity for very different reasons: Mozart amazed everyone with two soloists given equal treatment with demands that were very advanced for the period Tchaikovsky had to defend his work when some considered it ‘unplayable’, although, against all the odds, the first bars of the work became one of the most popular fragments of symphonic music of all time and Sibelius built the first movement of his piece around a sweet, romantic melody, but its extraordinary technical difficulty means the work continues to strike fear into the hearts of soloists even today.
