The lead female role will be sung by soprano Camilla Nylund, whose recent vivid performance in "Die töte Stadt" enchanted audiences. Juha will be portrayed by Finnish baritones Jaakko Kortekangas and Tommi Hakala, with tenor Jyrki Anttila as the charmer Shemeikka.
