Oesmann & Barrera: Symphony Orchestra of Barcelona

О событии

Enjoy a wonderful concert with the OBC, together with flutist Frauke Oesmann and harpist Magdalena Barrera at the Auditori of Barcelona performing works by Mozart, Varèse and Berio.

This concert provides an opportunity to enjoy some interesting contrasts: the one created by comparing the classicism of Mozart with the avant‐garde style of two of the twentieth century's great composers. Intégrale by Varèse is a work for woodwind and percussion ensemble that allows us to appreciate the style strategy explored by the composer known as "organised sound". Another type of organised sound is the one represented by Mozart's concerto for flute, harp and orchestra in C major: a truly classical work with the unique feature that it includes the seldomly used combination of soloist flute and harp. Sequenza no. 1 for solo flute by Berio, however, gives us an appreciation of the timbric range of which the flute is capable and the extreme virtuosity that it requires of the musician. Mozart's Symphony no. 41, "Jupiter", is the last piece in the catalogue of the Salzburg composer and a true exercise in maturity in which the harmonic complexity is concealed beneath a completely balanced and proportionate whole. This piece closes a concert of great timbric horizons.

Experience this richly moving programme at the Auditori in Barcelona.
