The Hallé Orchestra will visit the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid to perform a programme of works by Schubert and Mahler.

Founded in Manchester by the pianist and conductor Charles Hallé in 1858, the Hallé Orchestra is the oldest professional symphony orchestra in Great Britain. It gave its first concert at Manchester Free Trade Hall on 30 January of that year. After the death of Sir Charles Hallé, it continued to develop under the leadership of such illustrious figures as Hans Richter, Sir Hamilton Harty, and Sir John Barbirolli.
