Hamburg Ballet: Parsifal, Episodes and Echo

О событии

Invited for the third time to the Paris Opera, the Hamburg Ballet has chosen to present "Parsifal – Episodes and Echo", created in 2006 by its director, John Neumeier.

Impassioned by literary and mythical characters, the choreographer draws inspiration from the writings of Chrétien de Troyes and Wolfram von Eschenbach to offer a contemporary interpretation of the quest of the knight Parsifal. He focuses on the young man's journey which leads him, through his encounters, towards the discovery of an eternal mystery–that of self knowledge.

John Neumeier’s musical sensitivity and his ability to translate the emotional intensity of his characters into movement finds its culmination in the scores of John Adams, Arvo Pärt and Richard Wagner who accompany this journey in dance.
