Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra: Romeo & Juliet 2010

О событии

Ingar Bergby conducts the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra in a unique co‐production with the Nordic Black Theater, directed by Cliff A. Moustache.

Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet – about love faced off against biased opinions, suspicion, hate, and lust for revenge – has inspired many composers and other artists. Prokofiev’s ballet from 1936 is perhaps the best known within symphonic music. And, Bernstein’s West Side Story, set in modern time, is perhaps known by all.

This co‐production with Nordic Black Theater aims to present the action against the backdrop of today’s Norwegian reality and is based on the performance Romeo & Juliet in Rap (2008).
