Agrippina — Georg Friedrich Händel

О событии

Agrippina did not hesitate to use all means necessary against Emperor Claudius to help her son Nero rise to the throne of Rome.

Agrippina was the fifth opera of Händel's Italian period. The libretto by Cardinal Grimani is packed with intrigue, deceit and seduction. Agrippina owes its success to the composition's melodic freshness and Händel's humorous way of adapting to the existing conventions.

The American director Alan Curtis is back with Il Complesso Barocco, an excellent ensemble of musicians performing on period instruments.
