Since 1999 the series of concerts has been directing its intention to the musical world of the metropolises in the east, which are growing more and more towards the western Europe. Its becoming more and more fascinating to go to Krakau, Riga, Tallinn or St. Petersburg — citys of dense atmosphere. Musicians of these cities are ambassadors of their own rich tradition — refreshing the wish to visit these cities.

After Beethoven and Schumann the piano‐player Bernd Glemser will perform the second piano concert of Brahms. The Staatskapelle Weimar takes on Wagner — who had a strong relation to the town of Goethe — and Mendelssohns' 'Reformation‐Symphonie' and wants us to remember the 200th anniversary of the birthday of the composer of wonderfull classical‐romantic music.
