Myung‐Whun Chung is one of the most faithful and inspired interpreters of Olivier Messiaen.

In 2004 we celebrate the centenary of this master of contemporary music. A good excuse for opening this concert with a meditative piece by the French composer. This is followed by two Viennese classics that should show this orchestra — one of the jewels in the crown of German music — at its best.
