Viennese Classic II

О событии

The Chamber Orchestra Berlin invites you, together with the violinist Katrin Scholz and the world‐renown pianist Eldar Nebolsin, to a special evening of 'Viennese Classic' at the Konzerthaus Berlin.

This time, the popular season Bell'Arte presents classical highlights by Mozart and Hadyn:

Mozart — Divertimento D‐flat Major 136
Haydn — Violinconcerto G‐flat Major
Mozart — Pianoconcerto No. 15 B‐flat Major
Haydn — Symphony No. 85 %u201CThe Queen'

The Pianoconcerto No. 15 B was written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1784. In a letter to his father, Mozart compared this concerto with the Concerto No. 16 in D: 'I consider them both to be concertos which make one sweat; but the B flat one beats the one in D for difficulty.' Indeed, many pianists consider this to be the most difficult of all of Mozart's piano concertos and unveils Mozart's almost revolutionary style of composition and influences on other composers such as Haydn at that time.

Another highlight will be Haydn's Symphony No. 85 %u201CThe Queen'. Haydn's symphony is the fourth of the six Paris Symphonies and was completed between 1785 and 1786. It is in standard four movement form and is scored for flute, two oboes, two bassons, two horns and strings. The nickname La Reine (The Queen) originated because the work was a favorite of Marie Antoinette who was the Queen of France at the time.
