Greet the weekend with a fanfare, courtesy of Handel's 'Music for the Royal Fireworks'. Celebrated British conductor Trevor Pinnock, renowned for his expertise in the music of the Baroque and early Classical periods, leads the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

Handel's joyously extrovert suite conjures mental images of fireworks over the Thames, but Haydn's 'Military' Symphony — one of twelve composed in London — evokes fireworks of a different kind. The second movement's fanfares and percussion effects create an aural soundscape of battle. Acclaimed Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang adds Mozart's 'Turkish' Violin Concerto to the mix — a work similarly colorful and astonishing to the ear.
