The Wiener Philharmoniker will open the 2018/19 season under the baton of Herbert Blomstedt.

The leading Swedish conductor conducts the leading Swedish Romanticist: Berwald’s Sinfonie singulière is a work that dates from Schumann’s time, a genuine discovery that in certain passages anticipates Mahler. It will be featured alongside Dvořák’s tragic Seventh Symphony.
