The legendary American soprano Renée Fleming has put songs by Duparc and Debussy on her programme: The beautifully drunken music of Art Nouveau is made for her luxury voice. How much superlatives are appropriate in this case can also be seen in the choice of the song accompanist. Evgeny Kissin is of course more than that — this pianist is at least equal in fame to the Fleming.
