Conductor Herbert Blomstedt takes the Orchestre de Paris, pianist Lars Vogt, and the listener on a chronological journey of Beethoven's life, aiming to reveal, through his music, Beethoven's youth and journey to maturity.

Beethoven's concerto inaugurated a series of works that were destined to definitively change the relationship between the piano and orchestra.

'Eroica' signals the foundation of Romanticism in music with a bounding energy, indestructible melodies, and chords that were unprecedented in the day.  Never before had a composer taken listeners on so wild a journey.
