Britten's Four Sea Interludes and Beethoven's Symphony No. 7

О событии

Meet a conductor bound for greatness. New Yorker Karina Canellakis was the winner of the 2016 Georg Solti Conducting Award, and has already added a sparkling array of engagements to her schedule.

Conducting the Netherlands' Radio Philharmonic in Britten's 'Four Sea Interludes', and Beethoven's Seventh Symphony, Canellakis has ample scope to display her lyrical command, as well as her versatility. Drawing forth the moods of the sea, and evoking the mental states of the villagers, the Sea Interludes are almost a character in their own right in Britten's 'Peter Grimes'. Beethoven's Seventh Symphony, immensely popular since its premiere, is a structured expression of spontaneous joy, considered by its composer to be one of his best works.
